Block Fence in Southport

A block fence we completed in Southport.

Here is an example of a block fence we build in Southport.

The client had a Balinese gate that she wanted to use and also wanted a sliding gate across the driveway.

We removed an existing timber fence, dug a trench for the footing and poured a nice solid concrete footing with steel reinforcement.

The steel bars you see protruding from the concrete footing will sit inside the cores of the block wall and with additional steel will make the wall very solid once the blockwork has been filled with concrete.

There are a few options in which materials to choose when building a fence, brick or blocks are the most common. For this project we used blocks. As the block fence has steel reinforcing and is then core-filled with concrete it is very strong and doesn’t require any piers to stabalize the wall. This means you can have a nice flat wall on both sides without any piers or recesses.

The wall was rendered with a coloured finecote render. Usually with a rendered wall painting is required. This coloured render is troweled on over the top of a single coat of normal render. The product has some additives that make it very smooth and easily cleaned. Bats can be a problem around this area and can leave a bit of a mess on the walls bellow them at times. This was a great solution to this problem.

A fence like this adds instant value to the property.
